Clinical Staff
Our research coordinators are trained professionals in the field of clinical research. Our research staff are capable of performing a wide variety of clinical functions consistent with standards of patient care, nursing practices and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines. While encompassing patient services and clinical research, ARG is unique in its provision of clinical research support and technical expertise.
Each member of the research staff is able to assess the needs of each study subject. Every member of the research team works closely with the Principal Investigator to fulfill the demands of the clinical protocol. The coordinators are encouraged to continually develop new skills and add to their professional knowledge to ensure that ARG remains in the forefront of clinical developments.
Physicians
Padmini Atri, MD:
Principal Investigator
Dr. Atri is a board-certified psychiatrist with over 30 years of experience as a clinical researcher and psychiatrist. Dr. Atri specializes in child and adolescent studies. She has a strong background in ADHD research. She has experience with Phase II – IV research trials in all CNS areas.
Prakash Ettigi, MD:
Principal Investigator
Dr. Ettigi has over 30 years of clinical experience as a researcher, teacher, and physician. He has conducted numerous clinical trials and published multiple articles in the area of clinical research. Dr. Ettigi specializes in anxiety and depression in his outpatient setting. He is dedicated to exploring new treatments with pharmaceutical companies and holistic medications as well.
Banerje Koduru, MD:
Sub-Investigator
Dr. Koduru has been in practice for over 20 years. Dr. Koduru has acted as the consulting psychiatrist for the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services, Colonial Heights Counseling Center and the Richmond Mental Health Center. Dr. Koduru and Dr. Ettigi have collaborated on many clinical trials specializing in the study of mood disorders.
Shama Saiyed, MD:
Sub-Investigator
Dr. Saiyed an extensive research background acting as a study coordinator at the Lipid and Heart Disease Risk Management Clinic in Texas, prior to completing her psychiatry residency in 2007 at MCV. Dr. Saiyed has been in practice during this past year working closely with Dr. Ettigi and Dr. Koduru and continues to broaden her research expertise in the field of Central Nervous System Disorders.

Ms. Karen Anderson has extensive experience in Alzheimer's Disease, Women's Health (Female Sexual Arousal Disorder), Major Depressive Disorder, ADHD - Child and Adult (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), Schizoaffective Disorder, Schizophrenia, Parkinson's Disease, Bipolar I Disorder, Insomnia and GAD. She has over 30 years experience as a psychiatric nurse and has worked with both inpatient and outpatient trials. She has a background in medical records and quality assurance as well as psychiatric nursing.

Ms. Barnhardt has worked on multiple clinical trials in the field of CNS from GAD, to Cognition with Schizophrenic patients, to MDD. Ms. Barnhardt conducts all aspects of coordination of trials, from lab work, to pre-screening and recruiting patients, to rating scales, and queries.

Ms. Petree is dedicated to timely turn around of regulatory documents and data queries. She also works closely with the IRB and sponsor regulatory liaison to help maintain timely submissions and correct regulatory documentation. She performs quality assurance on all trials by being directly involved in the data process from start to finish of a study. She also works closely with monitors while in house to make sure queries are resolved during site visits.
